Brown Deer Technology accelerates scientific and engineering applications using the most powerful many-core processors ever created combined with industry standard programming interfaces.
The ATI Radeon HD 5870 provides OpenCL™ support and delivers an industry-leading 2.72 TFLOPS for single-precision calculations and 544 GFLOPS for double-precision calculations.
The Standard Compute Layer Library: libstdcl
The standard compute layer library provides a simple interface to OpenCL™. The libstdcl library implemented by Brown Deer Technology is freely available open-source software. (learn more)
Applications accelerated by Brown Deer Technology
N-Body Simulation. An N-Body simulation models the motion of particles
subject to a particle-particle interaction.
A typical example is the simulation of stars in a galaxy subject to gravitational force. Brown Deer has
developed an N-Body simulation code accelerated with GPUs using OpenCL.

Seismic. Finite-difference time-domain solvers are used to model velocity-stress
wave propagation for seismic applications. A direct solution of the time-dependent
velocity vector and stress tensor is solved on a staggered three-dimensional grid.
Brown Deer has developed a 3D seismic code accelerated with GPUs using OpenCL.
